Sichuan Tibet Tour: STE06 Jiuzhaigou, Panda Base, Emeishan, Lhasa, Shigatse and Everest Base Camp 14 days Tour

Visit Chengdu Panda Base. The Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding is located in the northern suburb of Chengdu on Futou Hill. It is 10 km from downtown Chengdu, and can be reached by the Panda Road. Giant pandas at the Chengdu Research Base live in large naturalistic habitats, which help the visitor to understand how these animals live in the wild . It is an excellent recreational area and a highlight of any visit to Chengdu. Many types of bamboo, trees, and flowers thrive at the Research Base.Several species of birds also make their home there. The Research Base is one of the important centers in China for the captive conservation of giant pandas. Take flight (45 minutes) from Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou in later afternoon.

After breakfast, head to the Jiuzhaigou National Park where you will board environmentally friendly buses to sightsee the Park. Visit the Shuzheng and Zezawa Valleys; Pearl Sands and Shuzheng Waterfall; the Tibetan village of Shuzheng, and numerous picturesque lakes including Panda Lake, Long Lake, Rainbow Lake, Tiger Lake and Rhinoceros Lake. Then summon your energy for a Tibetan folk customs show at night, consisting of singing, dancing and other programs. (The entrance fee of 180 CNY is not included in the tour price).

Drive to visit Huanglong National Park, a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site, with beautiful mountains, lush woods, colourful flowers, and crystal clear waters. (Note: If the road is icy , the tour will visit Munigou National Park instead) Then take flight back to Chengdu, drive to Mt.Emei, enjoying countryside views of the Chuanxi Plain.on the way (two hours along expressway).

Set off from the hotel at 7:00am by tour bus to the cable car station, where you will begin your ride to the the highest summit of Mt. Emei, the Golden summit. Have a look around the Golden summit including Huazang temple. After lunch,Take the cable car down and take the bus to Wanniansi parking lot which is located halfway up Mt. Emei. Take another cable car to visit Wanniansi temple.

Drive half an hour to Leshan, board a tour boat have a panoramic view of the biggest carved Buddha statue in the world. Then continue drive about 2 hours from Leshan to Huanglongxi old town in the morning. It is 1700 years history and around 30 miles away from Chengdu. For most of local people, Huanglongxi old town could be a place where it will bring them back to their childhood. The aged old trees, old temples and native custom all together can be an amazing to you. At Huanglongxi, despites the latest renovation, some of the old architectures were built in the late of Qing Dynasty, which was the last feudal dynasty in Chinese history.

An extraordinary day of sightseeing shows the spectacular architecture at the world famous Potala Palace. Former home of the Dalai Lama, its massive 1000-room structure towers over this mountain city. The tour is followed by Jokhang Temple . Then visit famous Barkhor Market, where you can shop for rare Tibetan items.

Yamdroktso(4441m), one of Tibet’s three holy lakes, is located 110km outside of Lhasa. It’s mostly mountain road, winding and bumpy, even thrilling somewhat. After about 3 1/2 hours’ driving, climbing over the snow pass of Kambala(5030m), the dazzling Yamdroktso just lies several hundred meters below the road, and in clear weather is a fabulous shade of deep turquoise. Far in the distance is the huge massif of Mt. Nojin Kangtsang(7191m).After down from the mountain, there’s about 30km road along lakeside, with barley fields on the other side of the road. A nice walk by the lakeside can be a great joy. Leaving Yamdroktso is as spectacular as arriving, since you’ll cross the 5045m Karola, with its awesome roadside views of the Nojin Kangtsang Glacier. With the Glacier scene still exciting you, after about 90km, you get to Gyantse. There stands the 35m-high famous Kumbum, packed with exquisite Tibetan sculpture and paintings, a stunning architectural wonder in Tibet.

Morning time, after lunch driving along with Friend-ship way pass Lhatse to Tinggri. One the way you will pass the checking point with your TTB permit, travel permit and passport. Then arrive at Tinggri. Buy the entrance of Everest Base Camp. During this route,you will have a glimpse of 4 mountains which is 8000m high or more, such as:Mt. Lhotse(8516m), Mt. Everest(8848m), Mt. Qowowuyag(8201m),Mt Mayalu(8463m). Then arrive at Rongbu Monastery.

After seeing the sunrise from Rongbu, then walking a few minutes to arrive the place get on the animal carriage then use half of an hour to arrive at Everest Base camp ( Or you also can do trekking to Base Camp around 1.5-2hours one way. It is interesting and much more warm but hard to breath). Hiking up to the top of the photo point take pictures for the splendid- Mt. Everest. Then driving down from E.B.C to Tingri then to Shigatse

In the morning, visit Tashilumpo Monastery which was Built in1447 , spectacular tombs of Panchen Lamas. then we leave Shigatse to Namtso Lake. On the way you will see the huge grassland of Naqu and have a chance to see the sky road- Qinghai Tibet Railway passing through it looks like a dragon. Then the Nyenchen Thanglha snow mountain ranges appear in front of you, and also you will pass the Nagela Pass. Namtso Lake is the Heavenly lake which is one of the three holy lakes of Tibet (other two is Yamdrotso lake, at Shigatse area, Lake Manasarova at Nagri) and also the highest salt lake. You can do a very relax trekking around the lake side and Zhaxi Island. You can enjoy the sunset by the lake.

Morning time see the sunrise beside the holy lake. Drive to Yangbacheng Hot spring 92km north of Lhasa, view the Northern Tibet grassland and NyanchengTanggula Snow Mountain on the way, overload your tireness at Yanpachen hot-spring, return back to Lhasa.
